King for a day.
The ship inn , Gillingham

Now for someone who gets his ass of the sofa and gets down to the little venues to watch some local music I get to see a whole lot of bands. To be honest most of them are once worthy kind of forgotten by the time you get home but provide a source of entertainment not even the best episode of love island could provide.

Then you find a gem , that little diamond in the rough that grabs you by the throat , drags you to the edge of that stage and makes you pay attention to every note for the duration of their set. Leaving you wanting more . wondering , what the hell did i just watch. King for a day are that band.

If the likes of Metallica , Royal blood , Florence black or anything that's guitar heavy then you're in for a treat. King for a day are a hard rock band based in Kent , known for their killer riffs , bass lines that drive the soul and a drummer that should by all accounts be arrested for assault and battery. They are tight . They are Daniel Mackenzie is rhythm guitar / vocals , Josh Earls on bass and vocals , Billy Hodgson  on the drums and Joe Hunt on lead guitar. Now its not often or even at all that I head over after a gig and demand the guitarists pic but this time it had to be done.  Purely to own one he played with when they were still a little pub band. Remember that name . Joe Hunt . This kid has been possessed by the ghost of Dimebag Darrel. Watching him play was mesmerising to say the least. Not wanting to take away anything from the rest of the band though. They are all very tallented.

Their set is solid, no hold barred and brutal on the senses. As any metal band that plays hard these guys are defiantly pit worthy too.

They have a few singles available to hear on those streaming thingies. long live the King and psychotic stain being  my top two.

So get your ass off the sofa , look for one of their and you will not be disappointed. These guys are one to watch . I will be whenever i can ,  see you in the pit.
